Let me share the inspiring tale of how Udhavimaghil came to be. It all began with a student from a rural district in Tamil Nadu, encountering an exceptional English teacher who happened to be visually challenged. This marked the student's first interaction with someone visually challenged, and he was deeply impressed by the teacher's remarkable teaching skills and proficiency in speaking American and British accent English.
The student was drawn to the teacher and began supporting him in every possible way - arriving early to school, waiting for the visually challenged staff to arrive, and even carrying his books. Throughout his college years, the student extended his support by volunteering for the visually challenged staff and his friends during exams, serving as a scribe and assisting with reading.
A turning point occurred when the student fell ill and couldn't fulfill his commitment to assist a visually challenged person. In a worried state, lying on his bed, he reached out to friends for help and somehow managed to arrange assistance. This experience sparked a bright ideaβwhy not involve more people? And thus, Udhavimaghil was born.
In 2015, the student moved to Chennai and continued his support for visually challenged individuals, engaging in various NGO social activities. Along this journey, he encountered another remarkable individual named Santhosh. With Santhosh's support and strength, they began expanding the circle of volunteers. Day by day, the requests from students increased, and after years of experience, Udhavimaghil has actively participated in over 30 different NGO activities, boasting a volunteer base of 8K+ individuals who have provided assistance to more than 1000 students.
